Mariupol – Another rescue operation of civilians from steel mill planned for today

With the support of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, both people from the city and from the steel mill besieged by Russian troops are to be brought to safety, the city council announced. Another rescue operation is said to take place today in the city of Zaporizhia.

According to Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, a group of around 100 people were able to leave the premises of the steelworks in Mariupol yesterday. The Ukrainian authorities assume that there are about 1,000 civilians there. Around 100,000 people are said to be staying in the city itself.

Other Russian attacks were reported from Ukraine, including from the town of Lyman in the Donetsk region and around Kharkiv. According to Ukrainian sources, several people were killed and injured.
