Through a publication on Twitter, the president reported that another 150,000 anti-COVID doses will arrive in the country tomorrow. “150,000 doses of the Modern vaccine against Covid-19 are already on the way, which will arrive in the country around 05:00 am,” he wrote.
This batch of vaccines is part of the donation received from Qatar through a cooperation agreement. Part of these will be reserved for the application of the second dose to pregnant women, as announced yesterday Thursday by the director of the Expanded Program of Immunizations (PAI), Héctor Castro. The first 99,600 Moderna vaccines that the country received were intended for pregnant women.

The arrival of the Moderna doses meets the schedule provided by the Ministry of Health, which announced that in July it would be receiving about 2,000,000 vaccines to continue with the immunization program against covid-19.
The arrival of a million of the Pfizer vaccine donated by the US is pending for this month in addition to between 400,000 to 700,000 doses of Covaxin, with no confirmed date.

Tomorrow Saturday starts the vaccination of people from 18 to 49 with basic diseases. With this segment of the population, the second stage of immunization against the coronavirus will begin, in accordance with the Vaccination Program established by the health regency.
Subsequently, vaccination would be enabled for law enforcement agencies, essential workers, indigenous communities, among others.
