MEXICO CITY (apro). – A federal judge sentenced Marisol Macías Gutiérrez to 30 years in prison for the murder of her husband, federal judge Vicente Antonio Bermudez Zacarías, which took place in 2016 in the city of Metepec, State of Mexico.

The district judge based in Almoloya de Juárez also ordered the convicted woman to pay compensation for the damage, public censure and the restriction of her political and civil rights.

During the trial, the Office of the Attorney General (FGR) identified Marisol Macías Gutiérrez as the person responsible for planning the murder of her husband in order to obtain the life insurance that she had as the head of to assemble the Fifth District Court in the cases of Amparo and Federal Civil Trials in Toluca.

The judge was murdered in the Llano Grande region on October 17, 2016 when a subject came to shoot him in the back of the head while he was exercising near his home.

It was not until October 8 that his wife was detained in León, Guanajuato, where she is from, as Vicente Antonio Bermudez Zacarías.
