SVU Star Mariska Hargitay paid tribute to the teenage Alyssa Bonal from Florida on Instagram Thursday after Bonal’s story went viral. Earlier this week, Bonal said she was waiting for the bus when a strange man ran over her with a knife. She hit and kicked him and ran away, also smeared blue slime on him so he could be identified later, his mother Amber said Pensacola News Journal: “She said, ‘Mom, I had to leave some evidence behind like on Law and order: SVU“. We’ve probably seen all of the episodes on Hulu. It’s a smart cookie. She thinks on tiptoe. She has this slime all over the place.
A man was later arrested by local police for attempted kidnapping and found with blue dye on his arms, just like the one Bonal found in the blue mud.
Hargitay praised the girl’s quick thought: “It is a great honor to be part of your amazing story. You are a brave, strong, and intelligent young woman. I think the SVU team may need to add some slime to their crime-fighting gear! She also called herself Bonal’s “number one fan”.
SVU Showrunner Warren Leight also shared Bonal’s story Twitterand added: “We are happy that Alyssa was able to take care of herself and that she is safe.” We are appalled that she had to go through this.
