Coach returns to active duty after guiding Rio Ave last season.
After the 3-2 victory against Sporting, for round 17 of the championship, Santa Clara will have a new coach. Mário Silva is about to be made official in the technical command of the team.
The 44-year-old coach is chosen by the Azorean SAD, continuing a career that includes spells at Almería (2019/20) and Rio Ave (2020/21), without forgetting FC Porto, where he won the Youth League .
Tiago Sousa, who guided the team on an interim basis in the last few matches, leaves the main role in the best way, with a triumph against the lions and the team in a provisional 13th place in the championship, with 16 points. Daniel Ramos, who started the season, and Nuno Campos were also in charge of Santa Clara in 2021/22.
