Nintendo is reportedly in the process of developing a brand new Mario Kart game. This is what industry analyst Serkan Toto claims.

To Gamesindustry.biz tells Toto that Mario Kart 9 will potentially be announced later this year. This despite the fact that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe still sells well on the Nintendo Switch.
The prediction from Soto was rather vague on details, but claims that the upcoming Mario Kart game will offer a new twist for the racing series. Exactly what that means remains to be seen.
Mario Kart 8 for Wii U in 2014 is currently the latest traditional Mario Kart game Nintendo has launched. A refurbished variant of the same game came to the Nintendo Switch in 2017, while Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit – a variant with real radio-controlled cars – came in 2020.
Otherwise, Toto believes that Nintendo will continue its mobile investment, and that 2022 will be the year where another established Nintendo series comes to mobile and tablets.
