Promotions help games to sell more units.

Mario Kart 8: Deluxe was the best-selling physical game of Black Friday week in the UK.
The list, shared by Games Industry, counts only physical units, where Nintendo’s game accelerated in sales and left everything else behind, as it exceeded the 2 million physical units sold on Her Majesty’s land.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond lost 1st to 6th, while Pokémon Shining Pearl dropped off the list by dropping to 11th, something that also happened to Battlefield 2042, which dropped to 12% after a 58% drop in sales.
As you can see in the table below, several games saw a big increase in sales of physical units due to Black Friday promotions and half of the list is represented by Nintendo Switch games.
Farming Simulator 22 was the best-selling debut of the week. It reached 13th place and 37% of units sold are for PS4, 34% for Xbox, 14% for PS5 and 14% for PC.
