Mario Götze criticizes Christph Metzelder and the mild verdict against him. The ex-soccer player Metzelder had forwarded child porn files.
Düsseldorf – Christoph Metzelder (40) was born on District Court Dusseldorf convicted of distributing child porn files via WhatsApp in 26 cases. He got 10 months probation, so he doesn’t have to go to jail. According to the judge, his remorse and therapy even had a somewhat mitigating effect.

The footage showed little girls under the age of 10 who were victims of serious sexual abuse.
While Metzelder was repentant and asked victims of abuse for forgiveness, ex-Bundesliga players like Lukas Podolski (35) and Mario Götze (28) judged Christoph Metzelder sharply.
Gotze said to the picture: “In my opinion, much tougher laws are needed for such acts. We are talking about heinous crimes against small, defenseless children.”
And further: “It does not matter whether the perpetrators are prominent or unknown. Personally, I find it difficult to understand reasons for reducing sentences for such disgusting acts. Because what has been done to innocent children and their families, nobody can undo more. “
Götze very emotionally to the Springer-Blatt: “Such a mild punishment for such a serious offense causes a great lack of understanding in me. I cannot understand that at all and makes me angry. When small children and their families are harmed for the rest of their lives , such despicable acts must be punished much more severely. ”

Lukas Podolski from Cologne had said about the sentence: “I lack the deterrent effect. Anyone who sins against children must be punished with all possible severity of the law. Again: Children are harmed! Just like your parents and families! The Punishment does not do justice to the offense. “
He shortened his Metzelder verdict on Twitter and simply wrote: “Disgusting”.
Christoph Metzelder made a partial confession in front of the Düsseldorf District Court on Thursday.
He admitted the forwarding of 18 child and youth pornographic files. He did not admit to owning nearly 300 files as charged.
