Mario Fierro, a teacher with Tijuana roots, is murdered in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, FEBRUARY 1, 2021 / DTJ.- A known and appreciated teacher Mario Fierro, he was killed on his way to the Cathedral Catholic High School this morning.

The High School immediately suspended its classes and the police strongly guarded the students as well as the teachers.

The incident occurred when the coach Mario Fierro, from Tijuana family (Colonia Gabilondo) opened the trunk of his car and was immediately attacked with bullets. The car was parked in front of his house, located in the community of North Park.

According to the police report, there are witnesses who report that the attack is believed to have originated from a man of Hispanic origin, about 40 years old, who was carrying a sweater con ziper.

The shots were heard at the edge of 7:15 a.m. this Monday, in the Kansas Street in the vicinity of the well-known 30th street.

The teacher was highly regarded among the student community for what has caused a great commotion and also in Tijuana where his family is well known and he kept friends, despite the distance.

So far there are no clues about the aggressor, so the police requested the collaboration of the community to obtain a clue.
