The postponement of concerts hit the entire artistic community, and in particular it was something that suffered in Mexican singer and influencer Mario Bautista. However, the interpreter keeps his spirits high, and the best example is that he rethought the way he connects with his loyal fans, whom he calls “Bautisters.”
After the release of his latest song “Miami”, in collaboration with his great friends Lalo Ebratt and Austin Mahone, the singer reflects on the surprises that this year allowed him to appreciate the progress of his career, remembering that precisely this new collaboration with his inseparable colleagues is the result of trusting in the musical power of a new creative generation.
“I am very happy with the reception that people are giving to ‘Miami’. I made this song with two people who mean a lot to me, Austin was one of the first people who gave me the opportunity to stand on stage, opening one of their shows in Guadalajara, after that my life changed. With Lalo there was already the formula for ‘Baby Girl’, it was something we knew would work and I told him that if he remembered ‘Miami’, that it was time to take it out, let’s put a candle to it. Everything flowed ”.
Mario highlights that, subject to the conditions allowed by the health contingency, he will resume his tour with face-to-face concerts in the main Mexican forums and Guadalajara will be the first city to give the flag officer upon his return to the stage.
“It was what broke me the most, because I had a tour with CNCO throughout Mexico and Latin America, we had more than 15 dates and for me that was a well-being, it is what I miss the most (…) we hope in life and in God that we lets get started and have the tour next year. We are already planning the tour, we traditionally started in Guadalajara on May 24, which was the day of my first show there, from then on in the middle of the year the presentation will arrive at the Arena Ciudad de México ”.
Happy with his role as a composer
With more than five million followers on social media and more than two and a half million monthly listeners on Spotify, Mario Bautista has not only attracted the attention of the public for the freshness he brings to Mexican pop and urban music, as his facet as the author of his own songs also gave him one of the most sought-after recognitions by Mexican composers thanks to the success of “Baby Girl”.
“It was awarded as one of the best Mexican songs of the year 2020. It is a beauty and having this award is a jewel. It makes me very crazy, coming to a party, having the song played and seeing people singing it, dancing it and enjoying it, thinking that I wrote that. I see people connecting with the lyrics, it is something impressive, and apart from the fact that it is the Society of Authors and Composers of Mexico that will reward me, I am truly grateful ”.
