Ottenham’s FA Cup tie against Marine will be played behind closed doors after the Liverpool City Region moved to Tier 3.
The Spurs met the 8th Division Marines in the third round on January 10.
Marine had hoped that around 500 fans would be able to attend the game in Merseyside when they host José Mourinho’s team at their 3,185-capacity Rossett Park.
But the game must now be played behind closed doors after the government announced on Wednesday that Liverpool would move to a higher level of coronavirus restrictions starting at midnight.
Marine says security must take security considerations into account, but admiring the ad is a “huge disappointment to everyone involved with the club.”

A statement from the Navy read: “Following today’s Government announcement to move the Liverpool City Region to Level 3, the club has received confirmation that the FA Cup third round tie against Tottenham Hotspur It will be behind closed doors.
“It is a great disappointment for everyone involved with the club, but safety must always be paramount.”
