A marine corpsman who was involved in the search for missing persons caused by torrential rain was swept away by a torrent and went missing.
Today (19th), around 9:00 am, a member of the Marine Corps’ rapid task force went missing while searching for missing persons in the area of Seokgwancheon, Homyeong-myeon, Yecheon-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do.
The missing unit member was reported to have disappeared after being swept away by a sudden torrent while carrying out a search operation around the river with his colleagues.
The Marine Corps Rapid Task Force is mobilizing IBS (small rubber boats) to find missing members.
Meanwhile, since the 17th, the Marine Corps has mobilized equipment such as 4 IBS (small rubber boats), 7 decontamination vehicles, 2 water tanks, and 5 quarantine equipment to help damage from heavy rains. Three KAAVs and a Marineon amphibious assault helicopter were deployed to search for missing people affected by heavy rains.
