Marine and Fisheries Agency Utilizes Information Technology to Improve Human Resource Development Services

The Marine and Fisheries Research and Human Resource Agency (BRSDM) at the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries in Jakarta has embraced innovative technology to enhance the quality of services for marine and fisheries human resources. Utilizing the Integrated Human Resources Intelligent Platform or the HR Development Command Center, their efforts secure accurate, up-to-date, and integrated data that can support decision-making, monitoring, and controlling programs at the ministry. This platform integrates data from several sources, processed, and displayed on a regular and up-to-date basis for decision-makers. The Ocean Institute of Indonesia, the Smart Fisheries Village, the training feature, Maritime, and Fisheries Extension feature, and managerial or secretariat feature are some of the functional components that provide various data on the distribution of educational units, SFV development, training participants, budget realization, PNBP, BMN, human resources, and more. Additionally, one month after its launch, the command center application is already running and widely used. Therefore, the usage of the command center platform at BRSDM can significantly improve marine and fisheries human resources’ quality, productivity, and effectiveness.
