Many questions arise from the fact that from recent registrations of journalists in the ESIEMTH journalistic union, three persons appear to work on the Ellinika Hoaxes site, which according to our information has been accepted by the general secretariat of communication and information as a media. All this for a site that has been denounced many times by journalists for the role it plays and while some people who work (on the site), were in the air force and now play the role of fact checker, while practically they have nothing to do with journalism.
In relation to his question documentonews.gr in informing the political editors the government representative said that “there are specific criteria that if someone meets them, he can be registered either in the electronic press register or in the paper press register, as you understand I cannot know about each application separately, because I do not decide I, as the responsible deputy minister, decides a specific service, which is, indeed as you said, in the general secretariat of communication and information. So in the event that someone makes the specific application to be registered in the register and meets a series of very specific criteria, a series of very clear conditions, they are clearly registered in the register”.
At the same time, he added that “if any of this is against the law, then there is the possibility of an objection by anyone who has a legal interest, so that someone is not on the register. If you want I can come back with the specific case to inform you”.
The questions about the criteria by which a site is recognized as an information medium are many, as it is not possible for people who have nothing to do with journalism to check the validity of the news and check journalists with decades behind them.
