Marín trusts that this insurance will guarantee the assistance against Covid-19 to foreign tourists who visit the community will help to recover the activity of this sector hard hit by the health crisis.
The regional head of Tourism explained that this insurance has already been awarded and will cover all medical, surgical, pharmaceutical and hospitalization expenses that result in an eventual contagion by coronavirus, in addition to covering the expenses of transport or repatriation of tourists that can get sick.
In an interview in Onda Cero, the number two of the Andalusian Government foresees that with this insurance tourism can resume its pulse from the second quarter of 2021 to gradually recover over the next year so that in 2020 Andalusia can reach the previous tourism data to the pandemic.
Marín highlighted the great effort that the Andalusian Government is making to try to recover this sector, which is a fundamental engine of the Andalusian economy and expressed his desire that the more than 120,000 jobs that have been lost this year can soon be recovered . The Minister of Tourism stressed that to begin to recover international tourism, it is necessary to offer the greatest possible guarantee and health security to travelers.
The insurance that will come into force in January for foreign tourists guarantees 4,000 euros to cover health expenses due to a possible contagion and establishes 5,000 euros for the coverage of the possible prolongation of tourists’ stay due to having to keep a quarantine, with a maximum of 15 days.
