When Kim Kardashian showed up on the red carpet of the last Met Gala wearing the crystal-encrusted dress Marilyn Monroe wore to sing “Happy Birthday Mr. President” to Kennedy, a few months before she died, she sparked controversy and divided the American and world public opinion. But it was only the beginning given that the criticisms towards her have rekindled after the diffusion by some social accounts of photos showing damage and lacerations to the dress that, according to Marilyn’s long-time followers, would not have been present on the iconic dress before the Met Gala.

L’account social “The Marilyn Monroe Collection“released some recent photos of the back of the dress, which in the meantime returned to be part of the collection” Ripley’s Believe It or Not! ” from which Kim had “borrowed” it. From the images you can see small tears and signs of stress, but also tears in the small hooks that close the dress on the back and the fabric appears torn in several places. Silence at the moment aside of Kardashian, but (sometimes) pictures explain more than words.
