Singer Marilyn Manson is the subject of a domestic violence investigation into alleged incidents about 10 years ago, U.S. officials have said.
It comes after Westworld actress Evan Rachel Wood and three other women earlier this month accused the American rocker on social media of abusing them.
The LA County Sheriff’s Department on Friday said its Special Victims Unit “is investigating allegations of domestic violence involving Mr. Brian Warner also known as ‘Marilyn Manson’, who works in the industry. the music “.

Wood, 33, who dated Manson, 52, around 2007 and was briefly engaged to him in 2010, said the singer “had horribly abused me for years” and “I was subjected to a brainwashed and manipulated ”.
“My attacker’s name is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson,” Wood said on Instagram on February 1. “He started grooming me when I was a teenager and abused me horribly for years. “
Manson has denied Wood’s claims as “horrible distortions of reality.”
The couple’s relationship became public in 2007 when he was 38 and she was 19, and they were briefly engaged in 2010 before going their separate ways.
Manson responded to Wood’s allegations with her own Instagram post later today.
“Obviously, my art and my life have been the subject of controversy for a long time, but these recent claims about me are horrendous distortions of reality,” her article said.

The other three women have also accused Manson of emotional and psychological abuse over the past 10 years.

The singer-songwriter is known for his goth-inspired black outfits and controversial stage personality, and his hits include The Dope Show and Personal Jesus.
He was previously engaged to prominent #MeToo activist Rose McGowan and married to burlesque dancer and model Dita Von Teese in 2004, who defended it earlier this month after the allegations were made public.

She said the experiences of Manson’s accusers do not match her own, claiming in an Instagram post that she left Manson “because of infidelity and drug addiction.”
“Abuse of any kind has no place in any relationship. I urge those of you who have suffered abuse to take action to heal and have the strength to come true, ”she added.
In 2018, Los Angeles County prosecutors refused to press charges against Manson for assault, beatings and sexual assault allegations dating back to 2011, saying they were limited by statutes of limitations and a lack of corroboration.
In this case, the accuser was only identified as a social acquaintance of Manson. He denied the allegations at the time.
