Marieke Elsinga candid about childbirth: ‘At one point I felt myself making a sound’ | show

Marieke and her friend Sander were cleared on November 9th their son Jip to welcome. The little sprout was born at 06.11, exactly at the time he normally presents the morning show on Qmusic with Mattie Valk. The presenter would have liked to give birth at home. “But it turns out Jip defecated in the amniotic fluid and then you have to go to the hospital.”

She calls childbirth “a painful exercise.” “But it’s also a very beautiful thing. I always get a little sick when women say that, but it’s true. At one point I heard myself making a sound. I looked like a whale. But yes, we were almost there. Delivery finally took fourteen hours.

Read more below the video in which Marieke Elsinga tells by phone in the morning program that she gave birth.

Mother and son are doing very well now. But she says: ,,Sometimes I want a little too much. I’d been walking a little too long lately. So you have the feeling that your body is falling off the bottom. My pelvic floor still can’t handle it. And she laughs with some exaggeration: “There are six cup sizes above and of course I wasn’t behind.”

Elsinga is still at home for now, but will miss her Qmusic show. “I am excited to work again. I will leave in February. It will be spicy. But it’s also nice, because I’m home early from work too. Then you can alternate it with the two of you.
