Marie Zeimeth and Margot Marasco in the Top 10!

After the Grand Est championships contested last week at Lac Blanc, the best Lorraine mountain bikers headed for the Alps this weekend to compete in the French championships in the resort of Menuires. Several of them have distinguished themselves, starting with the Roussy Bike Club licensee, Marie Zeimeth, who, after her title of Grand Est champion, landed a very good sixth place on Sunday morning in the event reserved for juniors. “She’s having a very good race,” summarizes Sébastien Welter, the manager of Team Moselle. The same goes for the youngest (first year) Margot Marasco. For her first participation in the French championships, the C3F (Canner Trois Frontières) mountain biker shone. Well placed from the first lap (4th), she fought well throughout the event to finish in a convincing seventh place.

Charlotte Monnier placed

What should also be remembered from this alpine weekend? The fine performance of Charlotte Monnier (Thionville VTT), sixth in the Masters women, and that of Aymeric Barthel (Moselle Culture Vélo) who took a good 23rd place in the very high category of hopes. Roseline Jung, 27th in the juniors, her brother Théo 53rd in the hopefuls (he was delayed by a puncture) and Clément Chérigui 80th in the juniors (also delayed by a puncture) complete the list of Mosellans. “A generally encouraging assessment” according to Team Moselle manager Sébastien Welter who, for his part, finished in 76th place in the men’s scratch.
