Marie Osmond and Andy Gibb’s Romance

Marie Osmond recently divulged shocking details about her past relationship with Andy Gibb, the brother of the famous Bee Gees. Osmond opened up about their tumultuous romance during the height of Gibb’s struggles with drug addiction.

Marie Osmond dated Andy Gibb after he divorced his wife in 1978.

In a new biography titled “The Story of the Bee Gees: Children of the World,” author Bob Stanley reveals the dynamics of Gibb’s relationship with Osmond. According to the book, Gibb was heavily involved in drug use while Osmond, a teetotaler, refrained from any substance abuse, even excluding caffeine from her habits.

Lawsuits and Heartbreak

Unfortunately, Gibb’s addiction took a toll on their relationship, leading Osmond to take legal action to prevent Gibb from contacting her. Albhy Galuten, a record producer, commented on Gibb’s drug problems and the mismatch of lifestyle choices between the two. This clash eventually resulted in their separation.

A Wake-Up Call and New Romances

Marie Osmond’s decision to end the relationship apparently became a “wake-up call” for Gibb, causing him to reflect on his self-destructive behavior. Following his split from Osmond, Gibb embarked on a relationship with “Dallas” star Victoria Principal, though Stanley’s book reveals that Principal ultimately left him due to his continued drug use.

Health Struggles and Tragic Death

Gibb’s drug abuse also impacted his family relationships and his own well-being. Stanley mentions that his voice was damaged, leading to lost opportunities and financial problems. Despite his attempts to turn his life around, Gibb’s addiction ultimately resulted in his premature death at the age of 30. According to the book, he suffered from myocarditis, a heart inflammation associated with drug abuse.
