Marie-Joseph Bron in Châteauvilain.

Marie-Joseph Bron has just left us. Born in Biol on February 17, 1926, she came from a family of 6 children. Marie-Joseph worked in Biol then in Succieu as a domestic worker. Arriving in Châteauvilain in 1962, she married Georges Bron. The family grew with the arrival of four children: Jean-Jacques, Bruno, Marie-Christine, René. Then eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren came to fill it.

Marie-Jo or “tatan Marie” continued her life on the family farm where she always worked hard. When her dad died, she took in her mom Germaine who also helped her with the work in the fields. In 1975, she lost her husband, far too soon, and had to continue working while raising her children. She retired at the age of 70.

In 2007, she had the pain of losing her youngest son, René.

He was a courageous person, very discreet, smiling and welcoming. His house was always open. She liked to take care of her flowers and her garden. She loved meeting up with her two sisters, Francia and Marcelle, over a cup of coffee and a brioche. Their departures affected her a lot. She had the happiness of staying at home, surrounded and helped by her children and Florence. She entered the hospital just before Christmas and passed away on March 11, 2023.

Aged 97, she was the oldest of the village.
