Marie-Anne Denis Elected President of Association for Media Education

The general assembly of the Association for Media Education (APEM) elected Marie-Anne Denis, general director of Milan Presse since 2013, to the position of president for a three-year term.

Alongside Marie-Anne Denis, the APEM office includes: Sophie Gourmelen, general director of Le Parisien, vice-president; Julie Lorimy, general director of SEPM, treasurer; Vincent David, president of the SPHR, secretary; Etienne Millien, journalist, director of APEM.

Coordinate media education initiatives

APEM was formed four years ago to coordinate the media education initiatives of press publishers. Today it represents publications affiliated with the Press Alliance (national, regional and local newspapers) and the Syndicate of Magazine Press Editors, i.e. more than 700 titles.

Journalists from the titles represented by APEM carry out several hundred meetings with school audiences each year. The association also develops media and information education (EMI) programs for adults.
