The producer has changed Maribel’s perception in many ways. “When I met him, I made five films a year, because what I wanted was to get out of my house,” the actress has acknowledged on several occasions, “But since we’ve been together, what I like is enjoying life with him,” explaining that now “I choose things (projects) that I truly believe in.”

They said ‘I do’ after a year of dating on September 2, 1999 in a civil ceremony with 125 guests held at the ‘El Corrijal’ chalet in La Moraleja, the luxurious Madrid development. Marriage is another aspect that has changed for the Madrid native since her relationship with Pedro, since walking down the aisle had never been part of her plans. “Since I was very young I have been clear that I did not want to lead a conventional life. I did not want to get married, or have children, or go to the shopping malls on the weekend,” she confessed some time ago. This changed with the arrival of the producer in her life, since for her, he “is the person who makes life better, easier, more fun and more real.”
After their marriage they reached an agreement that today, 25 years later, they have not broken. Maribel and Pedro swore not to spend 15 days without seeing each other, so before this period of time passes they must meet again. Maribel describes her husband as her “accomplice” and her “best friend”, although above all things she considers him “the love of my life”.
