However, the modified version of the song by American singer Brenda Lee (79 years old), released 6 decades ago, “Rejoice Around the Christmas Tree,” was able to dethrone Carey’s song for a short period, especially since it was released with a new video that brings together scenes from the past and the present.
Maria’s reaction was very nice, as she sent a bouquet of flowers and a message of appreciation to Brenda, which said: “Dear Ms. Brenda, congratulations on your historic first place finish. I wish you a happy birthday, my love.”
