We’ve known for some time that Christmas is one of Mariah Carey’s favorite moments. But this time, Carey aka the ‘Queen of Christmas’ got a special Christmas present: the Diamond award from the RIAA. The singer shone like a diamond after she was able to take the Diamond prize in her hands. She won the prize with her world-famous song ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’, which she wrote in the 90s. She is the first artist to win the prize for a holiday song.

The RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America, ed.) awards that prize to an artist who was able to sell more than ten million physical and downloaded copies. Carey’s song sold sixteen million copies. The song has survived different eras of the music industry and the singer herself is amazed. “The constant love for my song never ceases to amaze me. It fills my heart with a multitude of emotions,” she said in a press release.

Mariah shared her happiness with her followers with a photo on Instagram. “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend,” she captioned the snap.
