María Victoria Gil, sister of the former Minister of Economy of Cuba, Alejandro Gil, confirmed that the dismissed official, like his wife, are imprisoned while the Ministry of the Interior (Minint) carries out an exhaustive investigation into the misconduct committed by the former deputy prime minister of Cuba.
This was confirmed through an audio shared by the influencer Darwin Santana, who, through his channel Darwin’s world shared recordings in which the former presenter claimed that she was unaware of Gil’s illegal activities.
Likewise, he confirmed that their daughter, Laura María Gil González, is also in custody, but is under house arrest.
“My brother is detained along with the woman, they do not have mobile phones, there is no way to communicate with them. “My niece is under house arrest, also without a cell phone,” she is heard saying.
In this way, María Victoria Gil clears up many doubts that arose due to the statements of her son Daniel Alejandro Trujillo Gil, who first assured the media Radio Marti that the family was imprisoned, and then indicated to America TeVé who was unaware of his situation.
“I have nothing to do with my brother’s corruption. I swear on the health of my son that I entered Cuba and no one chased me, no one from the Security or the police, nor asked me anything,” Gil’s sister is heard saying, who had already made similar statements on his social networks.
It is important to remember that, after the official was dismissed by the regime, his sister went to social networks to assure that she felt disappointed in the Cuban government, because Alejandro Gil had only done his job, and was incapable of doing anything that could harm to town.
A few weeks later, after her visit to Havana, she thanked the Castro authorities for not “bothering” her during her stay on the island, despite the corruption charges against her brother.

This sparked a series of speculations, with several Internet users considering that the former minister, who had been dismissed a few weeks ago, was just a scapegoat.
