Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova, Andreya Mirchev and Valeri Turmanov with a matinee at the Opera – 2024-04-17 10:49:50

The last, eighth, concert manifestation of the series “The Soloists of the State Opera – Burgas” coming in saturday, April 20, from 11 a.m. in the lobby of the Burgas Cultural Institute, which has already established itself as a preferred venue for chamber music events.

The soloist of the Burgas Opera Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova was irresistible in the role of Franziska Cannari in the operetta by Johann Strauss-son “Blood of Vienna” – in March of this year, in February she was an emotional whirlwind, spreading charm, with an intelligent sense of humor in another famous Strauss operetta -son – “The Bat”, in the past 2023 she also sang in another Strauss title – “Gypsy Baron”, in the role of Arsene, both on the stage of the Summer Theater and in the Opera House.

Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova was also memorable as Mikaela in Georges Biez’s opera “Carmen” – on the open stage of the Thracian sanctuary of Begliktash, on the last night of the spectacular festival “Opera of the Sanctuary” 2023, and on the stage of the Burgas Opera House – in November, in the opera “Ball with Masks” by Giuseppe Verdi – on the stage of the Summer Theater and at the opening of the “Scene of the Centuries” festival in Veliko Tarnovo, in the role of Gilda – in Verdi’s masterpiece “Rigoletto”, as well as in other opera titles and chamber performances of the Burgas Opera.

The charming soprano will also take part in the Easter concert of the State Opera – Burgas, under the baton of the doyen in the Bulgarian cultural space – maestro Yordan Dafov – on May 2 at 7 p.m. in the Opera hall, together with Ioana Kadiyska, Yani Nikolov and Kostadin Mechkov. Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova sang with both her colleagues in a number of chamber concerts: Opera Gala with Slavil Dimitrov, “O, sole mio” – with Andrey Mirchev, vocal concert dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Rachmaninoff’s birth, “Evening of French Music”, ” Flowers for Tsvetnitsa” and others.

Here’s what the soprano says – engaging and with undisguised bias, emotional and philosophical reasoning, as well as an affinity for the chamber genre and her chosen works to perform on Saturday:

“Hyuga. Ikigai. Saudade. Duende. Four different words that have a magical meaning. In this fast-paced, noisy and digitized world, I wish we could look inside ourselves and hear the silence. Hyuga is a Danish word and means “the art of creating comfort and making you happy”.

Ikigai Japanese word composed of two Iki-life, Gai-value. According to Japanese culture, everyone carries their ikigai, but they can reach it if they work on their inner balance and develop their skills as a creator.

The joy of waking up and the smile with which you do so. Saudade – a Portuguese word that brings together all the states, encounters and emotions that have excited us, awaken our senses and make us feel alive! Duende – a Spanish word meaning “to have a soul”, that spark that some individuals carry and make them Creators.

It may be strange, but I will try to put these magic words in the music of composers who are not from Denmark, Spain, Portugal and Japan. I will try to show you that you can feel Hyuga when you listen to Reinaldo Hann. Or to be together in one “Saudade” through Rimsky-Korsakov, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky. “Ikigai” – with Richard Strauss and “Duende” – with Florov and Dvořák.

I’m looking forward to the concert. I will have the pleasure of sharing the stage with Andreia, Valery, Sergey and Natalya.”

The youngest soloist of the Burgas Opera will perform at the concert on Saturday – Andrey Mirchev.

A few days ago, in addition to the opera gala “Viva Puccini”, the tenor performed brilliantly in the role of Alfred Germont in the opera “La Traviata” by Giuseppe Verdi, in a stage partnership with Vera Girginova /guest/ and Alexander Krunev.
