The email is dated July 10 and comes from one of the officials of the Ministry’s cabinet. “Dear Dr. Boccia” it reads. “Following up on what was anticipated through previous channels a little while ago, I am attaching my contact details and those of my colleague for any need related to your appointment as advisor to the minister for “Major events”.

In addition to the email, Boccia published (directly tagging Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who yesterday she had accused of being a liar) the recording of the phone call that took place with the same official a few minutes earlier, proving that the woman was in the habit of recording private conversations, even without the other person’s knowledge.

Sangiuliano did not deny the possibility of the nomination but explained that it had been blocked before the final signature, due to possible “conflicts of interest”.
