Un Medico in Famiglia aired from 1998 to 2016. The stories of the protagonists left a positive impression on the public. There are still those who remember this Italian soap with great affection. Margot Sikabony, who gave the face to Maria Martini, however, also wanted to underline another aspect.

The set, for her, had transformed into a real prison. According to his words, he tried to escape four timesbut only the last attempt was the definitive one. The producer did nothing but ask her to take part in at least one more season. In the end, however, this time limit was largely exceeded.
This led her to have mixed feelings about her work: “At which point, I was really depressed, I loved acting but I felt the whole world around me was fake“. To make all this worse, there was also the tormented love story with her colleague Pietro Sermonti who, in Un Medico in Famiglia, played the role of Guido Zanin. The turning point came only when Jacopo Lupi, her ex-husband, became pregnant.
It was this event that pushed her to make a clear decision. She strongly opposed the request to return to the set. She decided to take some time to dedicate herself to her new role as a mother and her family. Leaving, however, wasn’t easy. There was no shortage of contrasts: “When I meet the future father of my children, I say enough and, to leave, unfortunately, I had to argue with everyone“.
