According to Lindén, the complicated electoral system of the USA sometimes causes difficulties even for experts. In many places, the system is not perfect.

For example, the authenticity of postal votes is verified with the help of signature samples. However, they are not evaluated by handwriting experts, but by regular election volunteers.

– This is not a terribly good way.

One problem is also that people who are active in party politics apply to be election supervisors. In 2020, Trump tried to take advantage of this by pressuring individual election workers who would never have thought they would get a call from the president.
