The Greith Haus is dedicating this year’s special exhibition to one of the most important female artists of the 20th century.
During her remarkable career, Maria Lassnig (1919-2014) created a profound oeuvre in the fields of painting and graphics, with excursions into (animation) film and sculpture. She also became famous for her “Body Awareness Paintings,” a new form of self-portrait that is unparalleled in art history. The exhibition in the Greith Haus presents – in cooperation with the Maria Lassnig Foundation – selected works from Styrian holdings, some of which have not yet been shown, such as the Universalmuseum Joanneum and Styrian private collections.
