European Commissioner Maria Gabriel is currently in Bulgaria. She did not answer her mobile number today to confirm the nomination in person. However, it is possible that this will happen tomorrow in the National Assembly, where the name of the future prime minister is expected to be announced either on the sidelines or in the plenary hall.
GERB will propose a prime minister, but not ministers. They will be a matter of negotiation with the parties that will support them. The first “offer” is to “We continue the change” (PP) and “Democratic Bulgaria” (DB), and the second – to the rest of the parliament.
Whether the ministers will be politicians or experts is a matter of negotiation. There will be no quotas and reserved seats, GERB leader Boyko Borisov said earlier. The cabinet will have a quick and short horizon and an incomplete mandate.
