Just a few days before her birthday, actress María Eugenia Ríos, known for her performances in soap operas such as Chucho el Roto and María Mercedes, passed away in the early hours of August 1 at the age of 88.

Actor Andrés Bonfiglio, who is also one of her sons, was the one who announced the unfortunate death of the first actress, which would have occurred around 12:35 in the morning today, Thursday. With a brief message, the man said goodbye to his mother.

“I deeply appreciate all of your prayers, however my Mommy decided to leave us 10 minutes ago to join my Beloved Daddy. May they live happily in eternity,” Andrés shared.

Hours later, the National Actors Association (ANDA) spoke out about Ríos’ death, and highlighted the work she did for the association.

“The National Actors Association deeply regrets the death of our colleague María Eugenia Ríos, who dedicated years of her life to our Union and the Children’s Center. Our condolences to her family, friends, colleagues and companions. Rest in Peace,” they wrote in a post via X.
