After almost 20 years of work at Telemundo, María Celeste Arrarás was fired from her program ‘Al Rojo Vivo’. Despite being left out of the television network, the Puerto Rican journalist wins the affection of her loyal followers and her work friends, including the Cuban-American journalist, José Díaz Balart.
On several occasions, Arrarás and Balart shared a set on Telemundo. The renowned presenters led the unprecedented information display that involved dozens of journalists and analysts in the company of Hispanic celebrities throughout the country, after the last presidential elections in the United States.
“As for this year that is ending, I thank you because you have given me the opportunity, the privilege, to continue at the helm of the Telemundo newscast, together with my dear friend María Celeste Arrarás, and in addition to presenting two hours a day of news in English on the MSNBC network with my program The Rundown with José Díaz-Balart ”, wrote the prominent communicator in 2015 in gratitude for his friendship with the head of Red Hot.
Both Balart and María Celeste have been included in the lists of nominees for the Emmy Awards for their work as journalists.

Another of the moments that both reporters led was the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, where from Moscow they kept all their followers informed of the opening of the World Cup on Telemundo.
María Celeste accepted the challenge of being in charge of Noticias Telemundo alongside José Díaz Balart, but without putting aside her responsibilities with an evening show.
María Celeste Arrarás farewell to Telemundo
The Puerto Rican journalist María Celeste Arrarás confirmed her departure from the Telemundo network after being informed that “Al Rojo Vivo”, a program of which it was the headline until yesterday Tuesday, “will take another course”.
Through a message shared on her Instagram account, the communicator revealed with deep sadness that, about to turn 20 years in that company, she will have to say goodbye to her show.
“This morning I was informed by the company that they have decided that the program take another course and that due to adjustments due to the pandemic I will no longer be part of the show,” he wrote on his Instagram account.
The 59-year-old Puerto Rican highlighted being very grateful for the opportunity that was provided to her throughout that stage of her working life.
From 1987 to 2002, María Celeste was part of the ranks of Univisión. In 2002 she went to Telemundo, causing a great media stir and assumed her role as presenter and editorial director of the program Al Rojo Vivo, after starting her television career in 1986, where she worked as a news anchor and reporter on Channel 24, a television station.
