Maria Bakalova will star in the thriller “Bodies, Bodies, Bodies” together with Amanda Stenberg, Pete Davidson, Michael Harold, the website Deadline announced.
The film will be directed by Halina Raine. Details of the plot are not yet known, but those familiar with the project describe it as a film about a series of murders. Production and financing are provided by the company A24, which is behind “Minari”, “Lady Bird”, “Uncut Diamonds”, “Take Out the Knives”.
The 24-year-old from Burgas was relatively unknown until Sasha Baron Cohen chose her for the role of Tutar in “Borat 2”. She received rave reviews and a series of awards, including an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She will be one of her first starring roles in “Bodies, Bodies, Bodies,” but she has already been cast in Judd Apatow’s comedy “The Bubble.”

Maria Bakalova posted on Instagram photos from a photo shoot for the British edition of GQ magazine, which put her on its cover, BTA reports. The accompanying article says that the film “Borat 2” is remarkable not only with the scene with Rudolf Giuliani, but also with the breakthrough of the actress Maria Bakalova.
