She quit every two weeks. “I couldn’t raise my hand”
– Due to what is happening with my shoulder, this year I was not able to do regular casting training. When I did it, then I wasn’t able to raise my hand and I waited two weeks for the next training. This translated into a lack of body sensation, lack of equipment sensation, and problems with the run-up – says Andrejczyk.
No wonder then that Eugene threw only 55.47 m. It was only the 22nd result among 29 competitors.
– Last year I used to quit every other day, back then there was regularity and now there was no regularity. But, unfortunately, there was an overload a year ago. Immediately after the 71.40 m throw, all my muscles cracked – we hear from Maria.
Nevertheless, it was then that she managed to prepare enough for the Olympic Games to have silver. But for that fight, for the constant shifting of pain, now he pays.
Fifth operation? And six o’clock? “Possibly it would be the end of my career”
“I don’t know if I will have to undergo another operation,” he says. – My rim is broken. Again. But I don’t want to operate on it, as it is possible that it would be the end of my career. Maybe I can do cleaning. Maybe I can do something with the bicep trailer as well, because it gets really tense. But I will make a decision later, not now – he says.
– Injuries are very demotivating, but I’ve been in such a place many times. Seasons without any success are also for something. I’m glad I get my ass because it comes in handy too. I want to continue fighting – adds Andrejczyk.
She definitely knows what she’s saying. He is an exceptional fighters. Between the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, where she was fourth, 3 cm from the medal, four surgeries were performed for the Tokyo Olympics – one shoulder, two sinuses and one ankle. The worst thing was with the shoulder, the key part of the body for the javelin thrower. But for Maria’s psyche, treatment of the sinuses was also very difficult – she was diagnosed with cancer. Fortunately, gentle.
But she won’t give up. “I take it on the chest. I’m not the one to let it go.”
Big Andrejczyk in his life changed – he has been living in Finland since spring and works with trainer Petteri Piironenbut in terms of health, as can be seen, little has changed in her.
– Yes, there are many changes in my career. And I was ready that this season could be like that. I’m sorry, but I’m taking it on the cage. After this season there will be another and another one, and I am not one to let go. I will fight on – he promises.
