Marguerites & cætera: Enchanting Evening of Musical Delight

the essentials Costume and evening dresses, a pretty decorated musical stage, three voices and a piano which enchanted the audience.

Julie Goron, Pauline Magnères, Mélanie Giner and Pierre Maurel from the company “Marguerites & cætera” pleasantly musically entertained the Lamasquérois last Saturday, during an original quiz show-opera evening organized by the cultural media library space. On this occasion the village hall was once again magnificently decorated on the Christmas theme by the artist Sylvie Estrabaut. From Pulp Fiction to Fame, Titanic or even Pirates of the Caribbean, including Beauty and the Beast, Pinocchio or even Vaïana, how can you not get into the game, especially when you are also offered the possibility of winning several gifts at themes. The village hall was packed and praise was pouring out from all sides at the end of this show, which was greatly appreciated by young and old film buffs and music buffs alike. The company Marguerites & cætera was created in 2015 by Julie Goron, lyrical soprano singer and established chorister, and Pierre Maurel saxophonist and professional lyrical singer, starting with lyrical cabaret shows and rest’opera evenings in Toulouse. Pauline Magnères, a pianist with classical training at the Toulouse conservatory, and Mélanie Giner, a professional singer, chorister and dancer, have also introduced the company since 2017, directing the troupe towards musical comedy shows before branching out into film music.

An exceptional show scheduled

The “Chapeau rouge” evening was a more family-friendly and all-audience version of “Tapis rouge” originally created, evoking a retrospective of 90 film scores retraced in 90 minutes. It’s a huge medley but also very elaborate transitions taking the audience through the 1930s to 2020, accompanied by extracts on the screen as well as a very particular lighting system. This exceptional “Red Carpet” show will take place at the Utopia Borderouge cinema in Toulouse on Friday, February 2 and will undoubtedly augur one hell of an evening…
