Margot Robbie believes in her successor: “I think Lady Gaga will do something great with Harley Quinn”

MovieThe role of Harley Quinn, the Joker’s anti-heroine and great flame, will soon take on the guise of Lady Gaga (36). She succeeds Margot Robbie (32), the actress who has played the character several times in the past. And she seems to have a good eye for it.

Lady Gaga will soon play Harley Quinn alongside Joaquin Phoenix (47) in “Joker: Folie à Deux”. Her predecessor Margot Robbie told MTV News that she can’t wait to see Gaga in her role. “It’s great to see how I’ve helped build a solid foundation for the character and that Harley can now be played by someone else. I think Lady Gaga will do something great with it. That she herself was no longer chosen, she seems to feel absolutely no resentment for this. “I made it clear from the start that I wanted Harley Quinn to be one of those characters who will go from leading actor to leading actor,” says Robbie. She says she is very happy to be on that list. Margot herself first played the role of the character in 2016 during the “Suicide Squad” films. She subsequently appeared in the spin-off “Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn)”.

High expectations of Lady Gaga

Although most know Lady Gaga primarily for her hits like “Poker Face”, the singer has already made a good turn in Hollywood several times. She alongside Bradley Cooper she starred the roof tiles in “A Star is Born”. And last year she was praised for her portrayal of Patrizia Reggiani in “The House of Gucci”. In the new movie “Joker” she will reportedly be allowed to combine her talents as it has been made into a musical. We will have to wait a little longer for the result, the film will be released in October 2024.
