Margo City Ceiling Collapses, Marugame Udon Restaurant Most Affected

Ceiling Margo City Depok collapsed, precisely in the area on the right side of the mall. The biggest damage was the Marugame Udon restaurant.

“What we can inform you is that this incident occurred in the Margo Prominent area on the right side, and this is the biggest impact in the Marugame Udon area,” said Marketing Communication Manager Margo City Mall Reza Ardiananda, Saturday (21/8/2021).

Reza said his party had not been able to estimate the losses due to the incident that occurred in Jakarta Margo City this. Currently, his party is still focused on handling victims.

“For losses we still can not answer,” he said.

“Alhamdulillah, all the victims are conscious and hopefully all can recover quickly and carry out their activities again,” he continued.

Known in advance, building Margo City, Depok, collapsed due to the construction of the building which was not strong enough to withstand the load of the freight elevator. The incident occurred at 16.30 WIB.

According to police, the freight elevator fell from the third floor to the first floor, causing the ceilings of the third and first floors to collapse. Police confirmed there was no explosion.

“Once again I state, there was no bomb explosion. The results of the inspection did not reveal a bomb explosion, but it was due to the freight elevator falling from the third floor to the first floor because of the heavy load and the structure of the building was not strong, so that several ceilings collapsed,” said Head of Depok Metro Police, Kombes.
