The truck with trailer on which the armored vehicles were transported has also been seized. The driver has been arrested.
The Marechaussee put the transport aside at the beginning of the evening. It turned out that the driver did not have the correct papers.
Ammunition on edge
The investigation by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service (EOD) subsequently revealed that some of the ammunition on board the armored vehicles had not been disabled and was therefore on alert.

According to the spokesperson, the transport was en route to the United Kingdom. “At least not to Ukraine,” he said. It is not clear what the weaponry should do in England. According to the spokesperson, these are older vehicles.
Tomorrow the Marechaussee will see what the purpose of the transport is and what kind of weaponry it is exactly.
Exit open again
The vehicles have now been removed and the Gronsveld exit of the A2 has been reopened to traffic.
