Marcus Rashford get into an argument with fans Manchester United after the fight Champions League. He could not stand the booed fans and clarified.
A viral video on social media after the Man United match against Atletico Madrid at Old Trafford, Wednesday (16/3/2022). The Red Devils lost 0-1 and were knocked out of the Champions League.
In the video, Rashford walks past fans off the pitch after the duel Man United vs Atletico. The England forward was booed by some of the fans who shouted at him.
Marcus Rashford tried to approach the fans who shouted at him, but were prevented by security. The 24-year-old was later caught on camera pointing a finger at a fan.
Some fans on social media speculated that Rashford was pointing the middle finger at fans. Rashford denied doing so in a post on his Twitter account, Thursday (17/3).
Rashford said the viral video was made to corner him. He got carried away with emotion and wanted the fans to criticize him directly in front of him.
“There are two sides to every story. A video can describe a thousand words and in this case cause inaccurate information to be shared on social media,” Rashford wrote on the @MarcusRashford account.
“I’ve been booed for weeks, threatened, interrogated and last night my emotions overtook me. I’m human. Reading and hearing things about yourself every day wears you out.”
“No one is more critical of my performance than me. But what you see in this video has no context. I have been booed from the moment I set foot off the pitch, abuse is not only aimed at my football,”.
“People are looking for a reaction from me. Cell phones are ready. Of course I should have walked past him and ignored him, that’s what we should be doing right?”.
“I want to clarify two things. The first is what I actually said to the man who was harassing me which was ‘come here and say it in front of me’ (the fact that security can be supportive) and second, the fact that I used my index finger at the fan’ come and say it in front of me’. I’m not gesturing with my middle finger,”.
“I have no right. This is not ego. I am angry. I am disappointed. And at the time it was ridiculous but I am still human,” he said. Marcus Rashford.
