Jakarta

Guess who will be the partner Marcus Fernaldi Gideon, What tournament he will participate in, and when, is now starting to be answered.

This was visible on the BWF website, Friday (13/10/2023). Marcus is on the list of event participants China Masters 2023 which starts November 21-26. He is paired with Muhammad Rayhan Nur Fadillah.

In the line-up for this event, Marcus was paired with Rayhan Nur. Meanwhile, Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, who was previously Marcus’ partner, was paired with Rahmat Hidayat, who was previously Rayhan Nur’s partner.

However, the status of both of them is still on the fifth and sixth waiting lists. Above them there are four other men’s doubles who are queuing up to play in the BWF super 750 tournament. They are Christo Popov/Toma Junior Popov (France), Yang Ming-Tse/Chiu Hsiang Chieh (Taiwan), and two pairs from Canada, Kevin Lee/Alexander Lindeman and Nyl Yakira/Dong Adam.

Previously, in an interview at the PBSI National Training Center, Cipayung, Marcus Gideon had expressed his desire to return to competing in future badminton tournaments even though he didn’t know exactly when.

He also admitted that he was still enthusiastic about training. Moreover, it is supported by a relatively fast recovery process after undergoing surgery on the heel of his right foot about three months ago.

“We have plans (for the tournament we are targeting) but we can’t talk about it yet because it’s not clear yet. Yes, we want to do it as soon as possible but we haven’t talked to the coach yet. I don’t want to rush either. Be patient,” said Marcus.
