Even though these stars then continued to emphasize their commitment to appear until the 2018 Asian Games, the threat of late regeneration continued to emerge.
Until then the duo Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo appeared. Marcus/Kevin have started to shine since the 2016 edition of the BWF Tour, but their success in winning the All England 2017 is still truly a surprise.
It was even more surprising when after winning the All England, Marcus/Kevin were able to dominate the men’s doubles incredibly. Not one year, but three years until the 2019 BWF Tour series.

To be able to skyrocket and become the world’s number one badminton player at the age of 26, Marcus Gideon took a journey full of twists and turns.
Born into a badminton family, his father Kurniahu, who is a former player and seasoned coach in Indonesia, Marcus grew up with high expectations to excel in the world of badminton.

However, Marcus’ journey then became difficult. He was disappointed with coach Herry Iman Pierngadi’s decision to leave the Cipayung National Training Center.
Outside the Cipayung National Training Center, the road is more winding. He has to struggle to draw up tournament departure schemes and other details, not just focus on training and competing.
However, experience outside the Cipayung National Training Center with a number of players, especially with Markis Kido, forged Marcus Fernaldi Gideon into a more mature player.

When there are things that can still be improved, that is what absolutely must be done. That was the path taken by Marcus Gideon when he decided to return to the Cipayung National Training Center.
