Alessandra Mele (20) was recently chosen as Norway’s representative in the Eurovision Song Contest. But if things go his way, Mele will not be the only Norwegian on stage in Liverpool in May.
Vant Melodi Grand Prix
Marcus and Martinus Gunnarsen (20) take part in the third final in the Swedish edition of Melodi Grand Prix, Melodifestivalen.
– We are of course nervous before the big day on Saturday. This is incredibly big for us, Marcus tells Dagbladet.
– Very happy and in love
The twin duo will initially have to convince “sweet brother” that their song “Air” deserves a place in the Swedish final on 11 March.
– There is no conclusion on how this will go. We’re crossing our fingers that we make it to the final at least. We want to go as far as possible, says Marcus.
– We saw it coming
The duo have only good words to say about “big brother”, and say that they have been well received by the Swedes.
Crisis meetings after rule violations
But they can reveal to Dagbladet that the participation did not go down well with everyone here in Norway.
– Of course, people were upset when it became known that we were going to be here. That’s what it’s like to join for the neighboring country. We saw it coming.
Norwegian shock in Swedish “Maskorama”
The twin brothers will nevertheless clarify that they have not forgotten Norway, even though they are now experiencing great success in Sweden.
– Of course, we really appreciate Norway, just to say the least! We just focus on what suits us best now.
– If there was a country we were supposed to live in forever, it would still be Norway.
Marcus and Martinus have, among other things, won the Swedish edition of “Maskorama”.
Before the brothers can lift the trophy, they must, among other things, beat former Eurovision winner Loreen (39). The duo admits that it can be a bit difficult.
Tributed by the superstar after the slaughter
– She has one of the most played Eurovision songs ever. She’s a true Eurovision legend, so it’s going to be hard to beat her, but that goes for all the artists – because they’re all so good.
The twin brothers will be the last to go into the fire during Saturday’s semi-final, which will be broadcast live from Lidköping.
– Lidköping is in no man’s land. But, some family is coming, so it will be incredibly nice, the brothers say.
