ARNHEM – Now that the nightlife has erupted again, the mayor of Arnhem Ahmed Marcouch has passionately called on ‘girls of Arnhem’ to report sexual harassment. This can be done in bars and clubs by warning staff with the code words ‘call for Angela’.

Once those code words have been spoken, the bar staff will call ‘the doorman and he will throw your assailants out’. Marcouch writes that on Instagram on Sunday. His post has since received more than 400 likes.

The mayor starts his post with: “Hello girls from Arnhem, how was this first night out for you without one and a half meters?”

The mayor then makes an urgent appeal to victims to report sexual harassment and to report it. “It’s good that you share the dirty words, dirty gestures and unwanted touches among each other, but please take it one step further and report it. Because we don’t see it if you don’t report.”
