The American designer of Latin origin Marco Marco will make a fashion show on September 9 at a festival of music, fashion and art in Central Park in New York. With thousands of tickets sold, this fashionista event seeks to achieve a Guinness record for attendance, according to his organization.

The festival, called Dreamland Fashion Week, indicated that it plans to “pulverize” the Guinness record for a fashion show, which currently holds a 2018 Moscow Week event, with 1,012 attendees, as it has sold some 3,000 tickets and plans to reach 5,000, he said in a statement.

The “main event” of the Dreamland will be a parade by Marco Marco, the artistic name of the Californian Marco Morante, who returns to the catwalks after five years to show his latest creations and review the “most provocative” pieces he has made in the last two decades, he adds.

Marco Marco is a favorite of musical stars, from Jennifer Lopez to Katy Perry, and advocates for the inclusion and representation of the LGBT community and especially the “drag” culture, to which he dedicated his last show with only trans models, among them Gigi Gorgeus, Angelica Ross and Geena Rocero.

In addition to the parade, there will be an electronic music concert headlined by DJs Diplo, Blond:ish and LP Gobbi, as well as “interactive art installations” and collaborations with multimedia artists.
Dreamland, which is part of New York Fashion Week, is organized by producer Jake Resnicow, who already promoted a “Dreamland Pride” in Central Park in June on the occasion of LGBT Pride and whose events “celebrate queer art and the music”, according to what the organization of the event told the press.
