After Wojciech Szczęsny ended his career, there was an interregnum in the Polish national team goalkeeping. Coach Michał Probierz announced at a press conference that two other goalkeepers would play in the matches against Scotland and Croatia. Logic suggests that since Marcin Bułka played between the posts in Glasgow, we will see Łukasz Skorupski against Croatia on Sunday.
– I was ready for both Scotland and Croatia. The coach decided that I would play against Scotland. It was not an easy opponent, perhaps my physical condition helped in the choice. I would not be here if I did not want to compete – commented Bułka in front of TVP Sport cameras.
Bułka conceded three goals in the match against Scotland, but only two were recognized. The first one was scored a few dozen seconds after the whistle to start the second half. It is hard to blame the 24-year-old, however, because he probably did not have much to say after shots by Billy Gilmour and Scott McTominay (——> REPORT).
– A positive match. These were difficult situations to defend – said Bułka.
The “crime” happened at the beginning of the second half. – We told ourselves at half-time that we would focus on keeping a clean sheet, and we see what football is like and sometimes one nuance can throw us off our rhythm. It’s a shame about that goal, because we were coming out of the Scots’ pressing nicely, we managed to get into their half many times with ground passes, playing short from the back – admitted the Nice goalkeeper.
