Mexico City.- The Metropolitan Opera House announced the appointment of Marcia Lynn Sells as the company’s first Director of Diversity.
Sells comes from the Law School of the Harvard University where, as Dean of Students since 2015, she has led her team in the “creation and implementation” of a wide range of diversity programs, highlights the statement of the Met Opera.
He has held positions in the Columbia University, NBA, Reuters agency and at the Harlem Dance Theater, where she began her career as a dancer. He dropped out after four years of professional dancing to study law.
He holds a law degree from Columbia University and served as Deputy District Attorney for him New York State. At the Met, Sells will be part of the leadership team, reporting to CEO Peter Gelb and will be responsible for developing “new diversity initiatives and enhancing existing programs.”
