The tax lottery that “divides” between 1,000 euros and 50,000 euros was carried out by the Independent Public Revenue Authority AADE. This is the 29th public lottery and concerns electronic transactions carried out in March 2024.
The tax lottery was conducted in its new form, giving out much larger sums. One lucky winner wins 50,000 euros, 5 lucky winners 20,000 euros and 500 taxpayers win 1,000 euros.
Already, on the website of AADE (are the numbers of the lucky ones who won in the previous tax lotteries held by AADE and the Ministry of Finance.
Bigger amounts in sweepstakes
The tax lottery system changes, based on the purchases made by each taxpayer in the previous month.
Amounts starting from 1,000 euros and reaching 50,000 euros will be distributed every month by the tax lottery, while at Christmas the amounts will reach up to 100,000 euros.
The relevant process will be repeated at the end of each month for 11 months, while in December, close to Christmas, 12 lucky taxpayers will win 100,000 euros each.
It should be noted that these amounts, as provided for in the relevant procedure, will be tax-free, will not constitute income and will not be subject to any retention in favor of the State or a third party.
According to the joint decision, every month, the lottery will draw and then pay 556 lucky people as follows:
-1 who wins 50,000 euros,
-5 who win 20,000 euros,
-50 who win 5,000 euros and
-500 who win from 1,000 euros.
On the last ten days of each year, the following will be drawn and paid:
-12 lucky people who win 100,000 euros each
– lucky winners who win 1,000 euros, the number of which is determined by the total amount of money that may have remained unallocated during the previous monthly draws, which were carried out from September of the previous year to August of the current year.
Every month, every euro of spending made with plastic money (cards or other electronic means of payment) gives a ticket to the taxpayer with a maximum monthly spending limit of 10,000 euros.
In the event that the amount consumed using a card or other electronic means of payment within the reference month exceeds 30%, 50% or 70% of the monthly income (1/12 of the annual), the fees are doubled, tripled or quadrupled respectively.
It should also be noted that taxpayers with an annual, individual, real net income, taxable and exempt from the last submitted income tax return, less than 1,000 euros, as well as those not liable to submit an income tax return, earn twice as much money for every euro they consume, those who have an income over 60,000 euros per year get one lottery ticket per euro without any increase, while each participant’s lottery tickets are increased by 50% for each protected child, as shown on a case-by-case basis from the parents’ joint or separate income statement.
For the participation in each annual draw, the numbers collected for each citizen, in the monthly draws carried out in the same year, are taken into account.
