“March Music Days” ended triumphantly in Bucharest – 2024-09-08 04:03:41

/ world today news/ This year’s, 59th edition of our most authoritative forum of great music, “March Music Days”, founded by the unforgettable builder of Bulgarian culture Iliya Temkov / 1923- 2002/ and led on a large scale and skillfully by the musicologist Iva Chavdarova , delighted its audience with a series of 30 concerts with a total of 650 participants, at a very high level with great musicians and ensembles from 17 countries of the world. The new thing was that the festival ended in Bucharest, where the Festival Orchestra was invited to perform the final concert within the cultural program on the occasion of the Romanian Presidency of the EU.

On April 1, in one of the most beautiful and acoustic halls in Europe, the Athenaeum /built in neoclassical style in 1888 by the French architect Albert Galeron/, our young musicians performed a serious and difficult program with works by three classics of the 20th century: Classical and Romantic by Pancho Vladigerov, Second Violin Concerto by Sergei Prokofiev and Suite from the ballet Firebird by Igor Stravinsky. The ecstatic Romanian audience applauded the conductor for a long time Emil Tabakov and the violinist is a virtuoso Svetlin Rusevinviting them for a few encores – with music by Bach, Niccolò Paganini and Pancho Vladigerov.
